Alex Steen keeps scoring goals

You can’t stop Alex Steen at this point, and you really can’t even hope to contain him.

Entering play on Tuesday night no player in the NHL had scored more goals this season than St. Louis Blues forward Alex Steen. Not really the name hockey fans would expect to see at the top of that list (at any point in the season) even though Steen has long been an underrated, well-rounded forward that helps drive possession against tough competition.

It didn't take him long to add to his league-leading goal total on Tuesday night when he buried his 13th goal of the season on a one-timer off of a feed from David Backes.

Steen’s career high in goals is 24 which he set back in 2009-10 in 68 games. He’s not going to keep scoring on 32 percent of his shots like he is now, but he’s still well on his way to setting a new personal best, assuming he stays healthy.
