Phil Kessel goes coast-to-coast for incredible goal

Phil Kessel scored one of the best goals we’ve seen so far this season on Friday night.

The first 49 minutes of Friday's Devils-Maple Leafs game were as dull as an NHL game can be.

But with 11 minutes to play in regulation Phil Kessel decided he had enough of this scoreless tie nonsense and put together one of the best goals we've seen this season (so far).

Here he is getting the puck at the New Jersey blue line, skating the entire way through the neutral zone and back into his own end of the ice, and then skating through the entire New Jersey defense before beating Devils goalie Cory Schneider through the five-hole.

That’s one hell of an individual effort. Unfortunately for the Maple Leafs Kessel took a penalty just a few minutes later that allowed New Jersey to tie the game.
