Johnny Oduya’s visor might have saved his face

This could have been bad for Johnny Oduya.

Well this is absolutely terrifying.

Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Johnny Oduya had a close call on Tuesday night when the skate of Ryan Garbutt came a little too close to his face.

That could have been awful. Fortunately, Oduya wears a visor, and it seemed to protect him from the razor blade that was inches from his face.

Oduya, an eight-year NHL veteran, has been with the Blackhawks since being acquired during the 2010-11 season in a trade from the Winnipeg Jets. He ended up playing 18:56 for the Blackhawks on Tuesday night, including 2:30 on the penalty kill, in Chicago's 6-2 dismantling of the Stars.

In 33 games this season he has scored two goals to go with six assists
