Robin Lehner stacks the pads

Robin Lehner with old school pad stack to rob Alexander Steen.

Even though his record might not show it, Robin Lehner has been one of the better goaltenders in the NHL so far this season, and he was pretty strong on Monday night in the Senators' 3-2 overtime win over the St. Louis Blues.

He stopped 30 of 32 shots in the win, with his biggest of the night being this double pad stack that robbed Alexander Steen late in the second period.

Now that’s old-time hockey right there.

It’s also the type of thing that hasn’t been happening to Steen, the NHL’s second leading goal-scorer, very often this season.

With the win on Monday Lehner improved his record to just 5-7-3 on the season, but his save percentage of .930 is currently sixth in the NHL.
