The NHL has already suspended nine players in the month of December, and Tuesday night provided even more work for the department of player safety.
Tom Wilson ejected for charging Brayden Schenn
Tom Wilson could be the next NHL player suspended for an illegal hit. He was ejected for charging Brayden Schenn on Tuesday night.

First there was Kyle Quincey in Detroit for his hit from behind on Ryan Getzlaf.
Not long after that play, Washington's Tom Wilson joined the league wide carnage when he was ejected for charging Philadelphia Flyers forward Brayden Schenn for this hit.
Schenn did not return to the game with what the Flyers are simply calling an “upper body injury.”
Along with the penalty for charging and the game misconduct, Wilson also had to fight Nicklas Grossmann after delivering the hit. But where the Flyers really made it hurt was on the ensuing power play when they scored two goals on Braden Holtby to snap a 2-2 tie.
It appeared that Schenn turned into the hit a little, but that’s still a dangerous play by Wilson and a definite charging penalty.
Now it’s in the hands of the NHL.
