Pascal Dupuis injury: Penguins forward hurt after collision with Sidney Crosby

This was the scariest kind of hockey friendly fire.

Penguins forward Pascal Dupuis and Sidney Crosby left with an injury on Monday after a scary run-in with Ottawa Senators defenseman Marc Methot.

The incident occurred in the first period when Methot hip-checked Crosby as the Penguins center entered the zone with the puck. The hit took Crosby off his feet, and his legs flew right into Dupuis as he passed by.

Yeesh. If not for his visor, Dupuis very well could have gotten cut badly by Crosby’s skate. Dupuis and Crosby were both shaken up and left for the dressing room after the play. Crosby has returned, but Dupuis is still missing. Any injury for either is obviously bad news for Pittsburgh, since the two make up two-thirds of one of the most efficient lines in hockey.
