Alex Ovechkin not happy about hit from Chris Neil

Alex Ovechkin felt the officials -- all of them -- missed a hit to the head from Chris Neil.

In his effort to hit Alex Ovechkin in the first period on Monday night, Ottawa Senators forward Chris Neil ended up injuring himself, leaving the game with what the team was calling a lower body injury following an awkward collision with the Capitals' superstar forward.

Here is the play, via Comcast Sports Net.

Neil left the game and did not return.

Ovechkin did stay in the game, and following the Capitals’ 3-1 loss he sounded off on what he thought was a missed call by the officials.

All of the officials.

Like all hits that play is sure to be reviewed by the league, but any supplemental discipline seems unlikely. Of course, the league is probably going to have some interest in the post-game comments as well.
