Toronto Maple Leafs goaltender James Reimer is not expected to miss an extended period of time due to injury, according to head coach Randy Carlyle on Monday night.

Toronto Maple Leafs head coach Randy Carlyle stated on Monday night that goaltender James Reimer is not expected to miss an extended period of time due to an injury he sustained against the Philadelphia Flyers.


Reimer left Monday's game against the Philadelphia Flyers in the second period having appeared to sustained an injury to his legs.
Following a Philadelphia attack, Reimer remained on the ice for an extended period of time while a trainer examined him. Prior to leaving the ice surface, the 24-year-old goaltender required the aide of teammate John-Michael Liles to return to the dressing room.
He was unable to return to the game.
Back-up goaltender Ben Scrivens finished off the contest with 32 saves on 33 shots faced. The club also brought in a member of the Toronto Marlies, the club's American Hockey League affiliate, to act as an emergency backup.
Reimer has been diagnosed with a lower-body injury. While Carlyle stated that he shouldn’t miss much time, a projected return date has yet to be released.
