Chicago Blackhawks forward Marian Hossa stated during his media availability on Thursday that he did not suffer a concussion after being struck in the head by the Vancouver Canucks' Jannik Hansen on Tuesday night.

Marian Hossa is apparently fine after suffering a brutal shot against the Vancouver Canucks on Tuesday.

Hossa and Hansen were attempting to play a puck out of mid-air when Hansen made contact with Hossa’s head. The Blackhawks forward crumbled to the ice and did not immediately get up.

Hansen was subsequently suspended one game by the NHL’s Department of Player Safety on Wednesday night for what they described as being “careless” with his actions during the play. Hossa stated that he doesn’t believe Hansen was reaching for the puck when contact was made. The star winger believes he was hit with too much force for Hansen to just have been reaching for the puck.
In terms of the team's game against the San Jose Sharks on Friday night, Hossa expressed a desire to play in that game. The Blackhawks have given no indication of whether he will.
