Nazem Kadri's creative pass behind his own back led to a goal for the Toronto Maple Leafs late in the 2nd period of their game against the Philadelphia Flyers.
Maple Leafs vs. Flyers: Sweet behind-the-back pass from Kadri
Nazem Kadri makes a nice play to put the puck in front of the net, and a goal is the result.
Moments after Philadelphia's Claude Giroux shorthanded chance nearly tied the game, the Leafs came roaring back and started creating chaos in the offensive zone. Kadri managed to thread the needle through the Flyers skates and sticks and get the puck to his Toronto teammates in front of the net. Philadelphia goaltender Ilya Bryzgalov gave up a rebound on the first attempt, and Mikhail Grabovski was able to lift the puck over the sprawling goalie and into the net.
Kadri’s pass, the initial shot that created the rebound, and Grabovski’s eventual goal were all performed on the backhand. If this was a video game the Maple Leafs would probably get an achievement trophy for that.
