Avalance vs. Sharks: Joe Thornton’s brilliant assist in the first minute

Joe Thornton set up Logan Couture for a lightning-quick goal in the game’s first minute.

When it comes to assist that make you say "just how in the heck did he DO that?" there are few players in the NHL better than San Jose's Joe Thornton.

In the first minute of the Sharks' game against the Colorado Avalanche, Thornton made a blind backhand pass out of the corner to hit a streaking Logan Couture, who scored his seventh goal of the year.

This goal was Thornton’s 15th assist of the season, and broke an eight-game pointless streak for Couture.

San Jose has been having serious goal-scoring woes in the month of February, so this early goal has to be a relief for the Sharks.
