The Minnesota Wild have acquired forward Mike Rupp via trade with the New York Rangers, according to Bob McKenzie of TSN on Monday afternoon.

The Minnesota Wild have acquired Mike Rupp by trading Darroll Powe and Nick Palmieri to the New York Rangers.

Michael Russo of the Minneapolis Star Tribune tweeted moments after McKenzie stating that sources have informed him that Minnesota had traded forward Darroll Powe to the Rangers. However, he was unable to confirm whether Rupp was the player the team would be receiving as compensation.
According to Pierre Lebrun of ESPN, the deal will consist of Rupp going to Minnesota in exchange for Powe and forward Nick Palmieri, which the Wild confirmed as the final deal.
Rupp signed a three-year contract worth $4.5 million with the Rangers in July of 2011. In 68 games with the Rangers, he has accumulated four goals, one assist, five points and 109 penalty minutes.
Powe was traded to the Wild in June of 2011 by the Philadelphia Flyers for a third-round pick in the 2013 NHL Draft. Powe then signed a three-year contract worth $3.2 million with Minnesota. In 90 games with the Wild, Powe compiled six goals, seven assists, 13 points and 66 penalty minutes.
Palmieri will be assigned to the Rangers’ American Hockey League affiliate, the Connecticut Whale.
