Columbus Blue Jackets forward Brandon Dubinsky has been fined $10,000 by the NHL for his hit on Los Angeles Kings defenseman Rob Scuderi on Tuesday night, according to an announcement by the NHL on Wednesday afternoon.

Dubinsky was fined the maximum amount allowed by the collective bargaining agreement. The money will be allocated to the Players’ Emergency Assistance Fund.
The incident occurred near the mid-way mark of the second period when Dubinksy boarded Scuderi. He was given a five-minute major penalty and a game misconduct.
After the hit, Kings forward Mike Richards engaged Dubinsky in a fight, which has occurred several times throughout the players' careers. Richards was given 19 minutes worth of penalties, including five-minutes for fighting, two for instigating, two for instigating with a visor and a misconduct.
Despite suffering a considerable amount of damage to his face, Scuderi was able to finish the game.
