The Boston Bruins (7-1-1) have re-scheduled their contest against the Tampa Bay Lightning (6-4-0) at TD Garden to 7 p.m., ET on Saturday, according to the club's Twitter account on Friday afternoon.
Boston blizzard postpones Bruins vs. Lightning game until Saturday night
The Boston Bruins and Tampa Bay Lightning are scheduled to play on Saturday. However, that might not occur due to a potentially historic blizzard, which is projected to hit Boston.

The game had originally been scheduled to start at 1 p.m. on Saturday but expected inclement weather forced the team’s hand to move the game back to later that night.
It might not be the only time the game needs to be re-scheduled.
With the threat of a potentially “historic” blizzard expected to hit the Massachusetts area, Governor Deval Patrick has declared a state of emergency that has banned all vehicles from being on streets after 4 p.m. ET on Friday afternoon. The state will even be lifting all tolls on the Massachusetts turnpike at 2 p.m. to assist in getting drivers home as quickly as possible.
According to Boston.com, the state is projected to receive up to two feet of snow and could experience winds exceeding 70 miles per hour. David Epstein, the site’s weather blogger, projects that the storm will be at its most intense between 9 p.m. ET on Friday night and mid-morning on Saturday.
With that in mind, the Bruins have already issued a statement informing fans that they will determine whether the game needs to be re-scheduled, via the team’s official website:
The National Hockey League and the Bruins are continuing to monitor the weather forecast for Saturday, Feb. 9 in the greater Boston area, and will advise fans as soon as possible if there is any change to the Bruins game against the Tampa Bay Lightning scheduled for Saturday at 1 p.m. at the TD Garden.
