Montreal Canadiens forward Brandon Prust is expected to miss 10 days due to a shoulder injury, according to head coach Michel Therrien on Sunday afternoon.

Brandon Prust is expected to miss 10 days due to a mild shoulder separation.


The forward sustained the injury during the team's 4-3 victory over the Tampa Bay Lightning on Saturday night. Therrien described the problem as a mild shoulder separation. If the timetable provided is accurate, Prust would miss three games and could potentially return for the March 21 game against the New York Islanders:

Upon missing Sunday's game against the Florida Panthers, Prust's streak of 223-consecutive games played was snapped. The last time he missed a contest came on Jan. 15, 2010 when he was still a member of the Calgary Flames.
With Prust unavailable, 24-year-old forward Ryan White took his place in the lineup and finished the contest with 13:37 of ice-time. Montreal went ultimately won the game, 5-2.
The Canadiens will return to action on Wednesday night when they host the Ottawa Senators.
