Ottawa Senators forward Milan Michalek will not be available for the team's game against the Boston Bruins on Monday night due to lingering issues with his knee, according to head coach Paul MacLean via Ken Warren of the Ottawa Citizen.

MacLean described the development as a setback, but also stated that Michalek was sitting due to maintenance. However, the head coach was unaware of whether the forward potentially could miss more time and informally described him as day-to-day.
Michalek was forced to miss 10 games due to issues with his knee. Having returned for road games against the New York Rangers and Toronto Maple Leafs last week, he participated in practice on Sunday before sitting out on Monday.
The potential concern with the injury is that Michalek has already stated that he will need surgery at the conclusion of the season. With the Senators already decimated by injuries, the loss of Michalek would be another devastating blow.
The good news is that Guillaume Latendresse will be available for Monday night's game after missing 18 contests with migraines and whiplash. He is expected to take Michalek's spot with center Zack Smith and captain Daniel Alfredsson.
