Bruins vs. Senators: McQuaid pushes Chris Neil violently into boards

Neil was shaken up, but returned to the bench later.

The Senators have dodged a bullet, but will Adam McQuaid?

Ottawa forward Chris Neil was shaken up Monday after getting knocked off his feet by Bruins defenseman Adam McQuaid and crashing violently into the boards. Neil remained motionless on the ice while Patrick Wiercioch fought McQuaid on the other side of the zone. McQuaid was sent to the box for boarding, and Wiercioch was penalized for instigating with a visor on. So the Bruins somehow ended up with a power play out of the whole ordeal.

It certainly looked like a borderline hit at the very least, but we’ll see if any supplemental discipline comes out of this at all. In the meantime, Chris Neil returned to the bench just a few minutes after the play. So perhaps no harm, no foul?
