The Detroit Red Wings have recalled forward Gustav Nyquist from the American Hockey League's Grand Rapids Griffins on Tuesday morning, according to an announcement by the team.

The Detroit Red Wings have recalled Gustav Nyquist from the Grand Rapids Griffins, while assigning Tomas Tatar.


This will mark the third time that Nyquist has joined the Red Wings this season. In two games with the team this season, the 23-year-old forward has registered three shots on goal and averaged 12:22 of ice time. Over the course of 20 career games with Detroit, he has collected a goal and six assists for seven points.
Despite his limited time with the Red Wings, Nyquist is currently leading the AHL in scoring with 60 points (23 goals and 37 assists) in 57 games played. In addition, he leads the Griffins in several primary offensive categories including goals, assists, points, power-play goals (nine) and shots on goal (166).
In addition to recalling Nyquist, the team also announced that Tomas Tatar had been assigned to Grand Rapids. Tatar registered four goals and three assists for seven points in 18 games.
