Stars vs. Predators: Line brawl erupts in third period

That’s some good old fashioned hockey roughhousing.

The Dallas Stars and Nashville Predators will be division rivals next year, and Tuesday night's game between the two shows that pairing is already pretty heated.

The Stars were clearly frustrated in the third period after playing a miserable game, and tempers were already rising between the two teams after Eric Nystrom fought Ryan Ellis. And then Mike Fisher ran into Stars goalie Kari Lehtonen, and things started boiling over.

Lehtonen gave Fisher a few good whacks and shoves, but the Stars waited to retaliate until play was stopped. As soon as the whistle blew, Stephane Robidas jumped Fisher and suddenly everyone grabbed a dancing partner as a line brawl broke out. Even Antoine Roussel took on the much bigger Shea Weber.

I don’t know about you, but I can’t wait for these teams to play each other in the same division over the next decade or so.
