Blake Geoffrion retirement report may have been premature

It appears as though Blake Geoffrion hasn’t officially retired yet, at least, according to his father Danny.

Montreal Canadiens prospect Blake Geoffrion is only considering retiring from professional hockey, his father Danny Geoffrion told John Glennon of the Tennessean on Wednesday. Earlier in the day John Buccigross of ESPN tweeted that Geoffrion told the Canadiens he would retire due to complications with a head injury,

Danny Geoffrion stated that Blake has not been able to skate much since sustaining a skull fracture during an American Hockey League game in November of 2012. Geoffrion’s father made it clear that Blake may retire, but no decision has been made.

His understanding is that Blake is going to evaluate things over the coming weeks and will then officially decide what he wants to do with his career.
