Panthers vs. Islanders: Florida scores three in two minutes to tie the game

T.J. Brennan, Marcel Goc and Mike Santorelli all scored in the third.

USA TODAY Sports

Let's give the Panthers some deserved credit. Decimated by injuries and down 3-0 to the lowly Islanders in the third period, they could've easily mailed in the last twenty minutes and nobody would've called them on it.

Instead, Florida got three quick goals in 1:43 to stun the Islanders and tie the game.

T.J. Brennan got the Panthers on the board with his first goal in Florida, and Marcel Goc followed up with a goal of his own just seconds later. Jack Skille then drove down the wing, charged the net and somehow managed to get the puck through the crease where Mike Santorelli could tap it home to tie it. The crowd went nuts.

And now they’re quiet again. The Islanders got a goal from Nick Cizikas later in the third and suddenly the Panthers will need some more magic if they want to steal this game away.
