Marc Methot injury: Ottawa Senators lose yet another player

The season of injuries continues for the Senators.

Abelimages

Ottawa Senators defenseman Marc Methot suffered a lower-body injury in their game against the New York Islanders, and the team announced after the second period that he would not return. The injury occurred during a collision and Methot's knee appeared to be the victim, as the defenseman needed to be helped off the ice.

Methot has become an important part of a Senators roster that has been severely depleted by injury this season. He has been one of the team’s leaders in ice time in recent weeks, usually playing in excess of twenty minutes.

The Senators have shown remarkable resilience this season, and they entered Tuesday night’s action in fifth place in the East, but how long can they keep winning with important roster players out of the lineup?

Get well soon, Ottawa Senators.
