On the heels of the Darren Dreger's reports about the potentially-impending relocation of the Phoenix Coyotes comes some new reports about a new ownership group planning a last-ditch effort to keep the franchise in Glendale.
Group led by Anthony Leblanc finalizing proposal for Coyotes purchase, according to report
Leblanc is making another run at keeping the Coyotes in Glendale.

Sportsnet’s John Shannon (one of the more reputable sources when it comes to business in the NHL) reported on Wednesday that a Canadian group of investors led by Anthony Leblanc and George Gosbee are finalizing a proposal with the NHL for the purchase of the Coyotes.
Shannon says that the goal of the group is to keep the Coyotes in Glendale long-term. Gosbee is the head of AltaCorp Capital and the Vice Chairman of AIMCo. According to Shannon, Leblanc and Gosbee’s group are considered the “lead group” in the purchase of the Coyotes.
Leblanc, of Ice Edge Holdings, had reportedly teamed up with Chicago businessman Matthew Hulsizer (who previously failed to purchase the Coyotes in 2011) to come up with a new deal. Shannon didn’t mention Hulsizer on Wednesday, and it appears Leblanc has now decided to pursue the transaction with Gosbee. All signs point to this being the last chance for hockey in Phoenix.
