51 seconds after the New Jersey Devils scored the first goal of the game against the Tampa Bay Lightning on a blast from Andrei Loktionov, Tom Kostopoulos was awarded a penalty shot on one of the weakest calls you're ever going to see:
Devils vs. Lightning: Bad call gives New Jersey a penalty shot goal
The Devils get a lucky break as the officials botch a penalty shot call.

Just an awful call. Victor Hedman BARELY touched Kostopoulos, who simply fanned on his shot and ended up with a penalty shot as his reward.
Kostopoulos beat Lightning goaltender Mathieu Garon to give the Devils a 2-0 lead in the first period. This was the first point for Kostopoulos as a Devil.
The best part of this clip is the utter confusion by the Lightning broadcaster. He just stops talking in the middle of his explanation to ask, “Where’s the hook?” He can’t believe what he has just seen.
We’re with you, buddy. It was a bad call, and a bad break for the Lightning.
