Canadiens vs. Islanders: Huge hit sends Galchenyuk into the bench

That’s one way to make a line change, I guess.

A highlight involving a huge hit that is completely uncontroversial, won’t get anyone suspended, and that didn’t result in a head injury? Boy, it seems like it’s been a while since we had one of these.

In the first period of the game between the visiting Montreal Canadiens and the New York Islanders, Montreal's Alex Galchenyuk was hit hard by New York's Casey Cizikas. Galchenyuk was swept off his skates and over the boards, ending up on the Islanders bench before quickly returning to rejoin the play.

Cizikas entered Tuesday night fourth on the Islanders in hits with twenty-seven through nineteen games. He certainly made this one count.

The first period ended with the Canadiens leading 1-0.
