Lightning vs. Devils: Johan Hedberg gets pulled

With all-star starting goalie Martin Brodeur still out with general soreness and a severe case of being old, the New Jersey Devils have been relying on backup Johan Hedberg to handle net duties... and it hasn't been going well. New Jersey hasn't won a game since Brodeur has been out, and Hedberg has started -- and stunk -- in each of those games. He hasn't posted a save percentage over .900 since being handed the starting duties, and Tuesday night may have been the straw that broke the camel's back.

Hedberg allowed three goals on fourteen shots in the first half of New Jersey's game against the Lightning, and he was rightly pulled in favor of Keith Kinkaid, who made his NHL debut. Kinkaid had been playing with New Jersey's AHL affiliate the Albany Devils, and prior to that he played for Union College. His stats in the minor leagues haven't been spectacular, but at this point New Jersey should probably just start throwing random dudes in the net until they find someone who is better than Johan Hedberg. It won't take very long.
