Chicago Blackhawks forward Patrick Sharp will not be traveling with the team to Colorado, according to an announcement from the team on Thursday afternoon.

Sharp sustained an injury during the Blackhawks' game against the Avalanche on Wednesday night. The play occurred during the third period when Sharp was pinned against the boards. After the play, Sharp was seen holding his left arm and appeared to be in pain. He went directly to the team's dressing room and did not return to the contest.

Nick Cotsonika of Yahoo! Sports tweeted that Sharp would miss any where from two-to-three weeks due to the injury. However, the Blackhawks have yet to directly address the injury other than stating that he won’t travel with the team.

In addition, the club announced that forward Marian Hossa would travel with the club and Michael Frolik would join the team on Friday. Hossa was a late scratch in Wednesday night's game due to an upper-body injury and Frolik is battling an illness.

Chicago will return to action on Friday night against the Avalanche.
