The Boston Bruins have finalized an agreement with Swedish forward Carl Soderberg, according to multiple reports.

The Boston Bruins have come to terms on an agreement with Swedish forward Carl Soderberg. The approval of the deal is still pending the Swedish Ice Hockey Association approving the transfer.

Boston signed Soderberg to a three-year contract, which will pay him $600,000 with an additional signing bonus this season and $1 million per year in the remaining two years of the deal, according to Darren Dreger of TSN.
The transfer agreement is still pending approval by the Swedish Ice Hockey Association. Dreger reports that Soderberg potentially could be in Boston as early as this weekend.
The Bruins originally acquired the 6'3, 210-pound forward via trade with the St. Louis Blues for goaltender Hannu Toivonen in 2007. Boston has attempted several times to convince Soderberg to play in the NHL but failed to do so. Some believed that he had no interest in ever playing in North America.
However, the 27-year-old has clearly changed his mind.
Team president Cam Neely stated in a radio interview with 98.5 the Sports Hub on Tuesday that the team plans to start Soderberg on the wing and potentially move him to center.
He will not require re-entry waivers, as the Bruins had him on their reserve list. In addition, he will be eligible to participate in the playoffs as long as he plays one regular-season game.
