Rangers vs. Islanders: Dan Girardi wins it in overtime

The goal ended one of the most thrilling games of the year.

If you watched every second of the Islanders-Rangers game today and need to do some deep-breathing exercises to calm down, I certainly don't blame you. The 1-0 overtime win for the Rangers was one of the most exciting games of the season.

The Isles and Rangers played with an intensity fitting for a playoff game in front of a wild Nassau Coliseum. Both Evgeni Nabokov and Henrik Lundqvist were brilliant throughout, right up until the game winner. Nabokov had stopped all 18 shots he had faced, and Lundqvist had turned aside 29 shots on his end. Dan Girardi was the only player who ended up breaking either goaltender, firing a shot past Nabokov in overtime off of a pretty backhand saucer pass from Derick Brassard.
