Dustin Brown takes out Jason Pominville with an elbow

The captain of the Stanley Cup Champions might be facing a disciplinary hearing after this move.

Midway through the game between the Los Angeles Kings and the Minnesota Wild, Kings' captain Dustin Brown delivered what looked like an elbow to the head of the Wild's Jason Pominville:

No penalty was assessed on the play, but Pominville was visibly dazed and went to the dressing room. He hasn't returned to the game. Pominville was acquired earlier this season from the Buffalo Sabres in an attempt to add some life to the Wild offense.

So what do you think folks -- suspension? Fine? Nothing? This isn’t exactly a “hit” in the way we usually see them, since Brown barely moves, but he still manages to bring his elbow solidly into Pominville’s face. Brown has a reputation for being a physical player who occasionally lives on the edge, but he has never been suspended or fined by the league.

For the Wild perspective on this hit, you can read their take over at Hockey Wilderness.
