The Toronto Maple Leafs may be without first line center Tyler Bozak for Game 1 of their Eastern Conference quarterfinal against the Boston Bruins. The team called called Bozak day-to-day with a mystery injury, but general manager Dave Nonis did say on Monday that he expects the center to play.

The Maple Leafs’ first line center’s status remains in doubt.

Bozak missed the Maple Leafs’ last two games of the regular season with a mystery injury and while he did skate with the team at the beginning of practice on Monday, he left the ice after just 10 minutes. Bozak took a hard check from Rado Gudas in Toronto’s loss to Tampa Bay on Wednesday and he may be nursing a shoulder injury from that hit, but the Maple Leafs have not said what is keeping him out so it is just speculation.
If Bozak cannot play, odds are the Leafs will move Nazem Kadri up the top line with Phil Kessel and Joffrey Lupul. The trio played well together in the season's final two game with Bozak out. Joe Colborne would likely dress in Bozak's place.
Bozak played in 46 games for Toronto this season, scored 12 goals and had 18 assists.
