The Colorado Avalanche have been awarded the No. 1 overall selection in the 2013 NHL Draft, which sets the first 14 selections among non-playoff eligible teams.
NHL draft order 2013: Avalanche win lottery, switch spots with Panthers
Now that the Colorado Avalanche have won the 2013 NHL Draft Lottery, the order of the first 14 picks has been determined.

The 2013 NHL Draft Lottery was the first time in history that all non-playoff teams were eligible to win the first overall pick. The Avalanche had a 18.8 percent chance of winning the lottery.
Now that they have, here is what the first 14 picks will look like:

3. Tampa Bay Lightning
4. Nashville Predators
5. Carolina Hurricanes
6. Calgary Flames
7. Edmonton Oilers
8. Buffalo Sabres
9. New Jersey Devils
10. Dallas Stars
11. Philadelphia Flyers
12. Phoenix Coyotes
13. Winnipeg Jets
14. Columbus Blue Jackets
The 2013 NHL Draft will be held at the Prudential Center in New Jersey. All seven rounds will be held on Sunday, June 30. According to NHL Central Scouting, defenseman Seth Jones of the Portland Winterhawks is considered the No. 1 ranked prospect in this year’s draft class.
