Blackhawks vs. Wild Game 1: Chicago plays strongly in second

Marian Hossa’s goal tied the game 1-1.

Now that's the Chicago Blackhawks we're used to seeing. While they didn't completely take over control of the game from Minnesota, they certainly got their wheels moving a bit more.

Chicago came out with a physical edge in the second period, determined to wear down the Wild to a point where they could strike back with a goal. That moment came just two minutes and change into the period, when Patrick Kane made this beautiful pass to Marian Hossa to set-up a goal.

A lot is made of Kane’s trickery with the puck, but I agree with a lot of people on Twitter in saying that Kane doesn’t get enough credit for his passing skills. He combines that slick stickhandling with some fantastic vision.

At any rate, the two teams played to a stalemate the rest of the way. Josh Harding has been great so far, stopping 15 shots. As the Hawks continue to rev up their engine, can he keep the Wild in the game?
