Minnesota Wild forward Dany Heatley will undergo shoulder surgery on Tuesday, according to Michael Russo of the Minneapolis StarTribune.

Dany Heatley will undergo surgery on Tuesday afternoon to help repair his separated left shoulder.

The procedure will be performed at the Cleveland Clinic. It will be a scope to help repair the dislocated left shoulder he sustained against the San Jose Sharks on Wednesday night. The injury was a result of a scrum between Heatley and Sharks defenseman Marc-Edouard Vlasic.
Vlasic was fined $8,378.38 for slashing Heatley before the scrum, but was not suspended as the NHL and Wild agreed that Heatley’s injury was not directly caused by the slash.

In terms of a timetable for Heatley’s return, head coach Mike Yeo stated that he does not expect the forward to miss the remainder of the season. The reason they elected to undergo the procedure is because it is believed it will help speed up his recovery time.
Heatley has accumulated 11 goals and 10 assists for 21 points in 36 games this season. He is averaging 18:32 of ice-time per game, in addition to an average of 3:02 on the power play, which ranks fourth amongst Wild forwards in both categories.
