Bruins vs. Maple Leafs, Game 5 update: Toronto comes out firing, has nothing to show

The Bruins and Maple Leafs are tied at 0-0 after one period, but Toronto’s in full control thus far.

The Toronto Maple Leafs don’t appear to be going down quietly in Game 5. Down 3-1 in their Eastern Conference Quarterfinal series with the Boston Bruins, the Leafs came out firing in the first period.

Toronto put 19 shots on Tuukka Rask’s goal in the first, compared to just eight shots on goal by the Bruins, but the score’s still tied at 0-0. None of those scoring chances were more impressive than this attempt from Mikhail Grabovski:

Nice try, Grabbo.

Toronto’s controlling play, earned a power-play opportunity and generally seems to have Boston on its heels, but the Maple Leafs have nothing to show for it after 20 minutes. Will Boston regroup and take control, or will the Leafs grab the first goal?
