Bruins vs. Maple Leafs, Game 5 update: Bozak goal puts Toronto up 1-0

Tyler Bozak’s shortie has the Leafs up 1-0 after 40 minutes.

The Maple Leafs controlled the first period of Game 5 and the Bruins were lucky to get out with a 0-0 score. Toronto's strong play didn't completely carry over to the second period, but it finally does have a goal to show for it.

The Bruins put 17 shots on goal to the Leafs' 10 in the second, but it was Tyler Bozak's shorthanded goal at the 11:27 mark of the second that put Toronto up 1-0.

The Leafs certainly sat back and allowed Boston to dictate the pace a bit more, and were probably lucky to get out to intermission with the lead. Late in the period, Zdeno Chara and Ryan O'Byrne got mixed up and Chara was clearly unhappy, heading off to the to the locker room with a two-minute minor for roughing. Toronto will clearly take that trade off and Chara will remain in the box for the first minute or so of the third.
