The Sharks needed OT, but got back into their series with the Kings after a 2-1 victory. They still trail the series 2-1. Earlier in the day, the Red Wings picked up a 4-1 victory against the Blackhawks in Chicago to knot the series at one apiece.

Jeff GrossTwenty-two seconds. That’s the amount of time it took for the Los Angeles Kings to take Game 2 of the Western Conference Semifinals from the San Jose Sharks, giving the Kings a 2-0 lead. Aside from the Bruins’ comeback blitz on the Leafs in Game 7 of the opening round, I don’t know if there has been a more heartbreaking loss during the 2013 Stanley Cup Playoffs. The Sharks still believe that the puck deflected off Jeff Carter and into the stands, but the call was made and the Kings had a five-on-three. At 18:17, Dustin Brown found a way on a mad scramble. 22 seconds later (parallels!), Trevor Lewis beat Antii Niemi to give Los Angeles the lead for good, winning 4-3 and breaking the Sharks’ hearts.
