Kings vs. Sharks Game 7 update: Justin Williams breaks things open

Williams scored twice in the second to give the Kings a 2-0 lead.

Unlike the first twenty minutes, things actually happened in the second period! Los Angeles sustained a fast start and took a 2-0 lead heading into the final period of Game 7.

"Cautious" would not be an accurate word to describe how the Kings played in the middle frame. Los Angeles changed the level of their attack from "persistent" to "relentless", and the Sharks' defenders looked completely discombobulated as a result.

So Justin Williams' goal at 4:11 was inevitable, even though it was a bit strange.

The following minutes for San Jose were pure chaos, as Los Angeles pressured Antii Niemi without mercy. A TV timeout didn’t do much to settle things down, because Justin Williams scored again at 7:08.

And he damn near got a hat trick, but Antii Niemi made the save of the playoffs (so far).

But Jonathan Quick has been equally brilliant. Considering how scarce scoring chances are in this game, scoring three goals against him will be incredibly difficult. Can the Sharks find a way?
