Things just got considerably more difficult for the New York Islanders, a team things did not need to get more difficult for. After losing 5-0 to the Pittsburgh Penguins in Game 1 of their Eastern Conference Quarterfinal series, the Pens will add the best player in the sport to their lineup.
Sidney Crosby update: Penguins captain returns for Game 2 vs. Islanders
Crosby will return after missing 12 regular season games and one playoff game with a broken jaw.

Sidney Crosby will return for Game 2 on Friday night. He's been cleared to play after missing a month of action with a broken jaw. He ended up sitting out 12 regular season games and one playoff game. He originally broke his jaw against the Islanders back on March 30, when a shot from Brooks Orpik deflected right into Crosby's face. He has been practicing for about a week with substantial facial protection.
Crosby was en route to what could've potentially been a very special season before having to sit out. He put up 56 points in just 36 games, and still nearly won the league's scoring title despite missing the season's final month. He only ended up being outscored by two players (Martin St. Louis and Steven Stamkos), both of whom played all 48 games this season.
