Derek Roy, of all people, just demonstrated exactly what the NHL is trying to get out of hockey these days.
Canucks vs. Sharks: Derek Roy boards Brad Stuart
The head shot sent Stuart to the dressing room.
Brad Stuart was playing the puck near the benches when Roy came out of nowhere and elbowed him right in the head.
Take a look:
That looks like a textbook headshot. Roy elevated himself (because, y'know, he's short) and delivered a direct blow to Stuart's head. Stuart remained on the ice for a minute or so and then went to the Sharks dressing room. Roy only received a two minute boarding minor for the play.
