Canucks vs. Sharks Game 4 update: Sharks take early lead

Brent Burns and Joe Pavelski scored to put the Sharks up 2-1 after one period.

If the Canucks truly want to come back from this 3-0 series deficit they're facing, they'll need to play a little better than they did in the first period on Tuesday.

Vancouver surrendered an early goal to the growing Sharks legend that is Brent Burns, who tipped in a Scott Hannan shot from the point to give San Jose an early 1-0 lead.

The Canucks didn't go down easily. Mason Raymond fired a wrister at Antti Niemi that took an unfortunate bounce.

The book on Niemi is apparently left shoulder. Who knew?

Things then got a bit ugly. Derek Roy received a boarding penalty for this hit on Brad Stuart, but it probably should've been more than that.

Textbook head shot. If the Canucks lose tonight, it won't matter if he gets suspended or not. And they very well might lose, as Joe Pavelski scored just seconds after Roy's penalty to give the Sharks a 2-1 lead.
