The Chicago Blackhawks and Alex Broadhurst have agreed to a three-year entry-level contract. Broadhurt was the, 1998th overall pick in the 2011 NHL Draft, selected by Chicago in the seventh round.

Broadhurst played with the London Knights in the AHL last season and finished the season with 63 points in 65 games, good for third on the team. The 20-year-old forward added 10 goals and 18 assists in 21 playoff games, helping the Knights to the 2013 Robertson Cup.

Prior to playing for the Knights, Broadhurt played with the Green Bay Gamblers in the USHL, where he scored 39 goals and added 67 assists.

Broadhurst is expected to compete for a place with the Blackhawks in training camp. If he makes the team, the New Lenox, Ill. native could become a quick fan favorite as the local boy.
