Detroit has signed winger Drew Miller to a three-year, $4.05 million extension, according to MLive.com’s Red Wings beat writer Ansar Khan. His cap hit is reportedly $1.35 million per season. The 29-year-old forward contributed four goals and eight points in an injury-shortened (in addition to the other, labor war shortening) 2012-13 season. He returned by Game 2 of the Chicago series and contributed a goal and an assist.
Miller is a solid defensive forward with -- as his numbers would indicate -- a bit of offensive talent. His salary will increase from $850,000 last season to $1.35 million for the next three.
