The San Jose Sharks are looking to trade pending restricted free agent T.J. Galiardi before free agency opens on July 5, according to CSN Bay Area. San Jose acquired fellow restricted free agent Tyler Kennedy in exchange for a second-round pick on Sunday, but they expect to sign Kennedy, making Galiardi expendable.

Galiardi was acquired by San Jose in February 2012 and struggled in the early going. Meanwhile, the man he was traded for, Jamie McGinn, excelled in Colorado. But Galiardi was much better in 2013, scoring five goals and totaling 14 points in 36 games. Galiardi wasn't as good in the playoffs, scoring one goal and adding only one assist in 11 games.
Galiardi was paid $950,000 last season after signing a one-year deal with the Sharks and will likely command just over $1 million this summer.
