With the NHL formally announcing the involvement of the NHL Players' Association in the 2014 Winter Olympics comes official announcements from participating nations about development camp rosters. Russia was the first to do so, as the host nation announced its invitees on Monday afternoon.
Sochi Olympics 2014: Russia announces development camp roster
The developmental camp roster for Team Russia was released on Monday afternoon.
Thirty-five players will be invited to Sochi on Aug. 23-24, which will include five goaltenders, 12 defenders and 18 forwards. Notable players include Sergei Bobrovsky, Semyon Varlamov, Pavel Datsyuk, Alexander Ovechkin, Ilya Kovalchuk and Evgeni Malkin.
