The St. Louis Blues have agreed to terms on a new two-year deal with defenseman Jordan Leopold. According to Pierre LeBrun, Leopold will be paid $2.25 million per season under his new contract.
NHL free agency 2013: Blues re-sign Jordan Leopold to 2-year deal
The Blues retained the man they traded for at the deadline last season.

Leopold was traded to from the Buffalo Sabres to St. Louis at the trade deadline and played just 15 games with the Blues, as well as all six playoff games. The Blues acquired him while trying to stockpile defensemen and have retined him, giving them seven defensemen under contract for next season with restricted free agent Alex Pietrangelo still outstanding.
Leopold only had two goals and eight assists between St. Louis and Buffalo, but he did have 35 points two years ago so he is capable of contributing offensively. Right now, the Blues are just looking for stability along the blue line, though, and Leopold gives them that. He averaged 18:22 TOI in the regular season for St. Louis, numbers he should match again in 2013-14.
