Michal Neuvirth thought he had Brooks Orpik’s first period slap shot secured, and then it very slowly slid out from underneath him and started to roll on its edge toward the goal line.

And then it stopped.

Sure, the whistle had blown and there was nothing the Penguins could do about the puck waiting to be tapped into the net, but look at it just sitting there, mocking them.

It’s a game of inches. A fine line. And whatever other cliche you want to use.
