Nathan MacKinnon keeps going and going and going

When Nathan MacKinnon gets the puck it’s awfully difficult to get it away from him.

Nathan MacKinnon was the lone bright spot for the Colorado Avalanche on Tuesday night, scoring their only two goals in a 5-2 loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs.

As has been the case for most of his rookie season, just about every time the No. 1 overall pick in the draft had the puck on his stick he was making something happen and bringing fans to the edge of their seats.

During one shift late in the third period, after a series of slick moves to gain entry into the zone, he turned into a one-man offensive zone cycle.

His two goals give him 17 on the season.
