Buffalo Sabres defenseman Tyler Myers will meet with the NHL over the phone on Monday about his illegal hit to the head on New Jersey Devils forward Dainius Zubrus on Saturday, according to Tom Gulitti of the Bergen Record.

The incident occurred midway through the third period. As Zubrus carried the puck into the zone, Myers stepped up and laid a heavy hit on him as he chipped the puck in. Myers only received a two-minute minor penalty, but Devils coach Peter DeBoer thought the hit deserved five minutes in the box.
Zubrus was okay after the game, but didn’t mind expressing his distaste for the play.
Zubrus: "Get hit in the head, get a penalty and they go up a goal. Tough night. I’m not very happy right now."
