Ben Bishop injury: Lightning goalie exits after 1st shot

After facing one shot Sunday night against the Oilers, Ben Bishop exited with an apparent right hand injury.

The Lightning have battled injuries all season. From Steven Stamkos to Ryan Malone and many more, Tampa Bay has managed to weather the storm despite missing some key players. The two constants for the team have really been Martin St. Louis and Ben Bishop. But on Sunday, after facing one shot from the Oilers' Jordan Eberle, and allowing a goal, Bishop exited the game with an apparent right hand injury.

There wasn’t anything on the goal that really made it seem like Bishop suffered an injury. The puck was scored on his glove side (his left hand), and it didn’t appear his blocker was in any collision. But after the play, he skated to the bench, and after being looked at by a team trainer, exited the game.

Bishop, who was recently passed over by Team USA for the upcoming Olympics, is second in the NHL in save percentage, and third in goals against average.
